Kevin talked to ACPT and they are willing to another group buy on carbon fiber driveshafts. $600 (plus I assume $40 freight), upgrades to larger sizes available. This price is basically the same as the last GP, which was in like 2008 or something. We need 10 people to get this price.
Last thread with more info: http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/index.php?showtopic=8566 1. Kevin (maybe) 2. ?? 3. ?? 4. ?? 5. ?? 6. ?? 7. ?? 8. ?? 9. ?? 10. ?? This post has been edited by Mojave: Apr 23 2018, 04:32 PM |

That was on my list down the road, after the Magnum, but only if it saved weight. The other thread says the Camaro ACPT shaft is 4.7lbs, not sure if that includes u-joints? What's the overall weight savings compared to the LS1 aluminum driveshaft & u-joints? It'll have to safely work with the UETA. I'm interested depending on timing of the group purchase ... but I've got a laundry list of other upgrades I'm going through, and it's first come first served.

I weighed my stock LS1 AL driveshaft complete with yoke and u-joints last night on my bathroom scale and it read 12 pounds. It is confirmed to work with the UETA. Blaine even has an AL driveshaft safety loop that will work with the ACPT and the UETA. |

Can Alan confirm in this thread that he's still selling that safety loop and the cost? |

Once 10 people confirm (they said they will try to work with us if we can get at least 5, but we'll need 10 for the posted price), I'll collect the payments and send them one bulk payment. No deposit needed until we confirm and things are a "go". In other words, once we get the max number of people, we collect cash (and verify that everybody who's "in" also sends money). Then I verify pricing for the confirmed quantity and place the order. |
