QUOTE (trackbird @ Nov 2 2004, 04:59 PM) But I do get to vote to ban smoking in restaurants if I want to..... Never smoked a cigarette in my life, but I think as Mark Russell put it, that it's almost fascist to pass laws telling private businesses what they can and can't do, particularly when it's an otherwise legal activity. That said, I was recently in California, and sure did like the smoke-free atmosphere when I was out. I got back to the hotel room and out of habit, sniffed my khakis to see if they had another night on the town left in them. |
