At last weekend's Divisional here in Atlanta I was able to weigh my car with the driver. I am trying to balance the car a bit more within the SP rules AND trying to find horsepower to match the 10 to 1 magic ratio. 10 lbs for every 1 horse.
Right now the weights are: LF 1020 LR 801 RF 1006 RR 694 Giving me a 57.5%front, 42.5% rear. Just a reminder, this is a 5.0L TPI / 5 speed car with T-Tops removed and a full 8 point roll cage. I am moving the battery to the trunk this week, (that should help). Are there any other legal tricks I should examine to try and help my situation? I can't think of any. Obviously, with only 260-270HP, i have to spend some time under the hood also, i'll be starting with Chip and Exhaust. I also bet that the driver losing 20 lbs would help this out quite a bit too. eh? Any thoughts? |

I don't know the particulars of the rules for your class, but swapping the hood for a 83/84 fiberglass stocker might shed some pounds up front. I don't know if it is legal in your class, or what else you would need to swap with that to make it legal under the update/backdate rules.
