I also think the future of energy looks bleak, but I feel that there ARE advances to be made in those fields that could aid in a lot of our stationary power requirements. I don't know the numbers, but solar power apparently has a LOT of energy per quantity in comparison to say oil. From what I understand, we can only harness a small amount of that energy. Again, I'm not disagreeing with you, or trying to say that we do have alternative power sources and are not reliant on oil. We are. I just wish there was some actual attempts at real development of those sources... and the use of materials other than plastics (which I dislike anyway).
