EDIT: 8/23 Update with more info see->>> http://kyfbodies.org/bash/
My local f-body car club ( http://www.kyfbodies.org/vb ) is putting on a autocross and drag racing event on Sept 10th at Beech Bend. You can usually get as many runs as you want on an f-body friendly course. I've been able to hot lap my car in the past. No guarentees but last year my codriver (Pat Joyce) and I put 30 runs on my car or so. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) You also would have time to make changes to your car between runs if you so wish. You prosolo guys can also make some drag strip passes right next door. More details to come as they are available. This post has been edited by robz71lm7: Aug 24 2005, 01:10 AM |

I was there in the "new" car. (just picked up an automatic '98 TA on Thursday afternoon). 3.23 Auburn diff. All stock everything - still has air pump, egr, stock worn-out shocks, some off-brand street tires, stock exhaust, etc. I did fix 5 busted lug studs, replaced the severely dished front rotors, and replace a busted tranny mount. Oh yeah, and borrowed the 35mm bar from the Camaro... But that would still keep me in F-stock in a SCCA event. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Drag racing: I ran a 13.9, a 13.8, and a 13.7 with traps from 100-101. I wanted to tune it last night but ran out of time. Didn't get to check or set the alignment either. I did tune it on the way to Bowling Green this morning. The wife drove, and I played with the tune, then threw it on there when we arrived. Leaned it out a little, bumped up that mid-range speed bump in the timing, increased the rev limiter a little (and the shift points), and decreased the desired shift times. And fan temps and top speed limiter. Autocross: Did ok I think. Actually probably mid-pack for street tire cars. Hadn't autocrossed since spring of last year, and that was the only time since the spring or summer of the year before that. Was pretty consistent. Ran two high 39's, then let some air out of the tires (and the car got looser instead of tighter, oops...) and ran two 40's, then compensated my driving a little for the car being looser, and got a mid 39 for my 5th run. Hot, the tires got up to 43, so I bled the fronts down to 38 and the rears to 34. It gripped better before I bled them down though. It think FTD was in the 34 second range. |
