Just thought I'd post some pictures up. I wanted a completely useless mod to do since I have been bored in the down time here. I decided to fab up a swtich panel, just so I can flip the IGN and START switch like I see them do in Nascar every weekend. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Made with all low quality parts from Radio Shack, and some neato .125" 5052 aluminum sheet metal from www.onlinemetals.com.

So far I have the start, ignition, master power working. Still haven't gotten the fuel pump and fans hooked up yet. It will be useful to be able to flip the fans on high and low whenever I want though. I also left two extra for the gauges and gauge lights whenever I get them put in.

Also ripped out the interior. Bare metal is so much nicer. Also, if you haven't seen the marble like roof without the headliner in a hard top car, it's quite interesting. No more door panels, no more center console getting in the way when shifting. I like the whole racecar feel, even though it's still slow. However, since I do drive it places, I'm sure most people think it looks like a theft recovery vehicle...

Lastly, for those who say "I can't live without the radio," without the center console being there, I zip-tie the headunit under the A/C controls whenever I need music. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I gutted out my TA, except for the doors and headliner. I don't have the heart to lose the A/C and radio yet, but I am working on it. With racing seats it weighed 3300lbs yesterday at the scale. Have you weighed yours?

Before I took out the front interor pieces I had it at a truck stop. The lady did it for free and said it was "3300" but she wouldn't tell us the last two digits, so it could have been 3399 or 3301, or anywhere in between. The last time we went back they wouldn't let us weigh up, so I haven't found a good place to get on the scales again. The front interior and stereo and all that only lost another 40 lbs. about, so it shouldn't have made too big of a difference.

I'll take some pictures of my custom easy removal head unit mounting system tonight. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
