How much lift does that TR224 cam have? The earlier versions had a .561 lift, then they went to a .563. It's a very sweet cam, you should get it. Nice power gain, minimal impact to tuning, will pass emissions, good idle if on a 114 LSA. (112 LSA also available.) |

I'll probably have to split this part of the discussion and put it in engine where it belongs. I'm not running headers, and not sure I plan to do so. Is it even worth looking at such a cam if I am on stock manifolds and exhaust (and cats)? Here I go again.....(Hijack alert) |

I ran this cam through stock manifolds and cats with an SLP Loudmouth when I did 161 mph on the Salt. And I had some throttle left! If on a 114LSA, a TR224 has a little less than zero intake/exhaust overlap, so it doesn't require headers. Zero surging/bucking was a nice thing about it also. Your car should dyno about 350 rwhp. Stock for an 01 or 02 LS1 is usually close to 305 rwhp, so you pick up a nice gain, as well as more useable rpm range. This post has been edited by Cal: Jun 1 2006, 08:33 PM |
