I'd like to announce that HP will be joining us as a site sponsor here at frrax. We're all using computers to access this site and we all buy computers for tuning cars, using the internet, etc. Why not check out HP?

Cool. I could use a good deal on a DL360 to replace my aging beige-box Solaris server at home, although, that machine with the overheat warning beeping at me is probably still quieter than a DL at full trot. :-)

Used to, I would pause while passing by the server room to see if I could hear the temp beep. Now, I listen for the fans. If I hear fans I go in to see what has a component failure. Yeah, I did one of those IBMs a while back. After the second reboot, we left the room when we had to reboot. I am suprised they didn't scoot across the table when booting. :-) |
