Hey everyone, I just found this site after being refered here from someone over at LS1tech. Man I wish I would have found this sooner. I looked around just a little and I like what I see.

To let you all: I've participated in a few autocrosses (about 5), but on a very sparatic basis and all on street tire (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I haven't done one in awhile, since I wanted to run 12s in the 1/4, which I did last year. So now I'm ready to get serious about autocross and maybe even go to a road race.

I've decided that I'm going to race in SM i believe (the one above ESP) because I refuse to change back to my stock shifter (to stay in fs) and I have a few minor engine mods that would probably bump me out of ESP and I'm planning on getting sub frame connectors this month.

Later
Derek

Welcome to our community! What kind of mods do you have that bump you out of ESP (other than the shifter)? You may be able to run in STU (street tire class). Not sure about that class, though; we've never had anyone run it locally.

I'll start off by saying that i'm not real sure of the mods that bump you out of classes, so here are my mods

air lid
ported TB
TB bumpstop
de-screened mafs
gutted cats
hooker catback
pro 5.0 shifter
cut stock springs
35 mm front swaybar
BMR STB
and I'm getting sub frame connectors shortly

I have WS6 wheels for my street tires, but I also have a set of 16x8 camaro wheels that I'll be putting some race tires on in the near future.

The only thing I see bad is the future subframe connectors. Everything else is ESP legal.

I don't think STU is a good class for us. The PAX is harder than ESP with hardly any other mods allowed.

Welcome to the board from one street tire auto-xer to another! I'm just one lotto ticket from Hoosiers.

Howdy! Glad you made it over here! You'll find a train load of info on this site Derrek. I thought I was the only NW guy other than Bill that liked to abuse my car around the road course.

Hey, I'm a new to the message boards too. I see there are a lot of 4th gen cars here, any other 3rd gens lurking too? I'm usually stirring the pot at thirdgen.org but I'm glad to see there is a place for us guys who like to make turns too.

I've been autocrossing on and off for about a total of 4 years, can't wait to get a set of race tires under me. Most of this experience has been with NASA Northeast at Giant's Stadium. Hopefully I'll get a chance to hit Pocono or Lime Rock soon, but not before the motor swap, subframe connector install (sitting in the basement for too long), upgraded brakes, tranny rebuild, prom tuning, and..........

I'll have to get used to all the ESP, STU etc. talk. Is there anyplace to get a quick rundown of what everything means? I know I'm classed in E with the people at NASA, it is a pretty straight foward classing where you get points for each modification. Once I'm done I think I'll wind up in C someplace.

Try this site:

and the page for the classes in particular:
