How do you check one of those.
The one that's on the car (83TA) seems loose maybe. It moves easy when you try to spin it with the motor cold. The car has an air dam and cools OK at highway speed. Starts to run too hot in slow traffic or at idle. Thanx |

Good question! Those things always feel about the same to me whether hot or cold. I usually just replace them with a solid fan.

It may not be at an acceptable performance level regardless. Compare it with a new one from your local autoparts store. |

I changed the water pump and installed an old fan clutch that I had. Tried to get a new one today but of course they didn't have one in stock. The one I installed is tighter than the other one and moreso when the motor is hot. Taking it to the track next week so I'll see how does there.
