Well I'm a little behind on getting to the first events of the year. But May9th and 10th will be my first outing for the 2015 autocross season. With the purchase of a new house in December of last year, it opened the door to getting a open car trailer since I have the room to store it. Repainted it and threw some new tires on it so it's ready to roll. Then came the decision to make it look like I have done this before and ordered some magnetic letters/numbers so I can do away with the painters tape (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Tax season came up which put some money in my pocket and decided to pick up a TrueTrac.
After the diff gets installed (hopefully Sunday) the car, IMO, will be "up to the task" to whatever my driving ability can throw at it. I'm excited to FINALLY start learning how to drive hard and not have to "drive around" the cars weak links. I'm pumped to be able to drive in with race tires already mounted, unload the car, race it with a properly working diff (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) , put it back on trailer and drive home! Yes I am getting excited about the "little things". Corbeau Forza seat 5 pt harness Sway bars Strano springs Koni shocks SFC's Watts Link 275/40/17 V710's Full exhaust SLP lid Under 2 weeks!! Anyone else gearing up? |

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, we never 'gear down'. We have had a pretty long gap between events, as our 'April' event was the last Sunday in March, and our May event will be the second Sunday in May (as opposed to our usual first Sunday of the month events, so I'm itching to get out there and grind some rubber off the Hoosiers.
The purchase of the new toy has slowed development of the Firebird some, but my co-driver reminded me that with her new help starting work soon, she should be able to make more events this year, so I better get back to work on the race car, damnit. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif) Hopefully, the weather as finally broken, so we can actually safely drive on slicks again. Dang it's been wet this winter!! I could imagine in TX you don't have much of an "off season" lol. If I could race all year round, I would be scared how much money I would go through.

Here, we really need to have an 'off season' during July/August time frame, but everyone is trying to get seat time for Nationals, that isn't happening. We have tried night events, but the heat was only marginally-better, and for the event crew, it ended up working almost a 24-hour day. But yeah, running all year long, to stay competitive, you will usually use at least two sets of tires.

The snow has finally cleared in Massachusetts and the past two weeks has been a sprint to get the car ready for the NJ pro solo. I've had nothing but issues last weekend with the car hopefully that's all in the past.

My parents live in Boston and I felt bad I couldn't help with the shoveling this year LOL.
