I know it's far, but where is Topeka... a local guy told me it was 40hrs drive, back and forth. |

I'm thinking of going, I just need to score a co-drive (no laughing, Karen!) in FS. I don't want to drive my car (toasted diff, cracked exhaust manifold, shot bushings, loose front hubs ...... ) |

Why don't you talk to Frank? I'm sure he'd love to codrive with you! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Like Pat said, I'll be there, driving someone else's car while he drives my black car. The really stupid thing is that someone else is asking me about driving my green car, so I could possibly have two cars out there, and not be driving either one of them! Probably not this year. I still have more things to do to the car before it's ready for the Nationals. I'm already coming up with a list of "to do" items for the winter. But who knows, we'll see. |

City to city it is over 1400mi. Forbes Field/SCCA HQ is S of Topeka about 4 miles. Try mapquest's driving directions to Topeka KS. |

Nationals is a lot more then just 6 runs, the people, parties, and stuff make it a very fun social event. Last year was my first Nationals and while I got the snot beat out of me in the Solo 2 Nat's I did OK for me time wise in the ProSolo Finale (that end slolam was still very tight (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ). I'm getting married in October, so I have to use my vacation for the honeymoon instead of Nat's but I'm going back to Nat's next year and running 4 ProSolo's, so I can run in the Finale too. Thing that kills me is my fiancee is having her High school reunion in Kansas a week before the Finale this year, to bad I couldn't just stay a week longer. |

Guys, I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I work for the Ritz-Carlton (which is owned by Marriott, which ahs a hotel near the finals!). If I can get an idea (and some kind of informal commitment) of how many people are going, I may be able to set up a group rate at the Residence Inn (or Courtyard, can't remember which it is). As of a couple weeks ago, their asking rate was somewhere around $100 - I could probably get a group rate nearer $75 (no promises). The more people that commit, the better rate I can negotiate!!

I think there's both a Courtyard and a Residence Inn in Topeka. In any event, it would be cool to have a bunch of f-bodies all at one spot. Karen |

well, I signed up in F-stock driving an '02 Z28, not my '94 LT1. We're not even sure which tires we'll be using. Either a fresh set of the new 710's or a fresh set of A3S03's. Gonna do a test 'n' tune event next month to figure that out. The thing about the 710's is with almost no seat time I do not know what the optimum setup is (air pressures etc). Which hotels are the frrax.com members staying? |
