As some of you know I crew cheif/test rider for a local snowmobile racer in my off time to pay for my car expenses. He recently purchased a 1422cc 3cyl 2stoke motor that produces (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) 295fwhp +200 ftlbs of torque. This motor runs on pump fuel and makes peak power at 8400 rpm. It run's a belt drive which is only +- 50% efficent. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif) Expected 1/4 Et 8.40 at 155mph 1/8 mile et on ice 4.9 sec at 133 to 137mph. Aprox weight with driver 700lbs. Oh We are making plans to run a 50hp Nos shot. Just to make sure :leaving: it stays in front.
But it comes at a price. This motor if you supply the base parts which would be the case halfs, and crankshaft. Cost $7500. If you go with the Billet crank option add extra $2500. Replacement cylinders are 1500 a piece, Pistons without rings are 165 each, rings sets are 30each. Fuel system $1500, Ignition $900, Billet alum Clutch $1400. I can jet the thing too lean a make the thing a boat anchor very quickly. Snowmobile parts have always been expensive, I've gotten used to it, especally when someone else is paying the bills. Makes LS1 engine parts look like a bargin. Just thought you would get a kick out of this info. Later John |
