Ok, most of our members here know that I build the trackbrackets C5 conversion brackets for 4th gen F-bodies. This kit was originally the Bob Bishop conversion kit, but I bought the rights from Bob (who is no longer affiliated with this product) and am building them to his standards at the same shop that perfected this manufacturing process. I would like to do a batch of either 11 or 22 sets. I'll make some phone calls to get a firm price on this batch (I have to verify the cost of aluminum). We sold the last batch for $279 on the GP and $299 after that (shipped to your door). I'll post a firm price as soon as I get it. But it should be close to the last batch.

If you're interested, please post in this thread. Once we get enough buyers lined up, I'll start collecting money and hope to deliver them within 6 weeks (depending on my shop schedule) from that time. Just in time for spring mod season.

Thanks!

Kevin

EDIT: 01-25-06

I've verified the prices with my shop and have the final totals. I've managed to work out a deal that allows me to reduce the price slightly (but the materials, hardware and processes are not changing, they will be identical to the batches that were done before these).

If we sell 11 sets = $279 per set (Plus shipping)
If we sell 22 sets = $269 per set (Plus shipping)

I get a slight discount for a larger order and I'll pass the savings along.

Am I correct in assuming that these still require modification to the steering knuckle? I believe the BB ones did.

Yes, you do have to modify the spindle with this kit. It is identical to when Bob sold it, I've made no changes (other than anodizing the insides of the bolt holes, which is a good thing) to the kit. When I purchased the rights from Bob, I agreed that they would be built to his rigid standards and I would not try to find ways to skimp on the construction (and I haven't).

I should pick some up even though I wouldn't buy the other stuff for the kit until later on, but I'll never be able to afford all the other mods I'm doing in a month.

Just let me know, you can always gather up the parts later. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Great and welcome. I'll PM you payment information.

Thanks,

Kevin

There are still some (either one or two sets) available. If you look at the beginning of the thread, I put myself down for 2 sets and I'll probably keep at least one of those, so there is at least a set left, possibly two (if I don't keep any for myself).

Either way, we are going ahead with this batch and things are under way.

Thanks guys!

Hi guys...long time no see! Is this gp still active? There seem to be only 2 names on the 1st post (new order start up, or still original one?) Thanks.

It's still active. I just started collecting money so most of it is likely in the mail right now (hence the only two names) and two buyers are local to me and have no need to be listed.

We still have at least one set left at this time.

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,
Am I too late for this GP?
I got some questions but I wait for your reply first.

Kyan, if you want you can take my set. We just got done with a surgery for one of our daughters and I hadn't had time to send the money in yet. Let me know, because otherwise I need to go ahead and send my payment in to Kevin.

Thanks Evan.

Kevin then please count me in if someone can tell if the Z06 setup will fit inside my 17" 97 SS stock rims.

Oh by the way, all I need after this to make the change over are following parts from Team Chevrolet:

=====================
Here is an updated GM parts list:
GM Part # / # needed / Description
88895128 / 1 / Caliper, Guide pin bolts included (red Z06) OPTIONAL
88895129 / 1 / Caliper, Guide pin bolts included (red Z06) OPTIONAL
88925547 / 1 / Right Delco Durastop rotor, lower cost OPTION
88925548 / 1 / Left Delco Durastop rotor, lower cost OPTION
12455799 / 2 / Pad abutment bracket
10333772 / 2 / Front caliper brake hose
12530697 / 4 / Pad abutment guide pin
12530703 / 4 / Guide pin boot
22163795 / 2 / Banjo bolt
10139097 / 4 / Banjo bolt copper washers

CHOICE OF PADS AVAILABLE THROUGH GM DEALERS:
88952008 / 1 / Z06 front axle pad set - RECOMMENDED - (includes springs & shims)
===========

Does anyone know how much total convertion $$ will be?

I did some searchs and followed links to other posts but got more confused at the end (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) .....

Evan,

I've got enough for both of you. So if you want a set, it's no problem, just toss it in the mail when you get a chance.

How's your daughter doing? Nothing serious I hope.

The kit will fit your wheels. One of our members recently completed (all of the other GM parts) his kit for just over $400 (plus the conversion kit from this gp). Here's what he said (about 3 months ago, so it should be pretty current):

QUOTE
BTW, Dal Slabaugh priced everything for me and came up with a cheap total -- $411 inc the Z06 pads and Durastop rotors.

Thanks!
