If I thought I could pull it off, I'd give it a shot.....

Just ordered some Ecsta MX's for the street wheels with the Tirerack link. I'll order a set of r-compounds for the 17x11's later.

If there is anyone here who purchased some black 17x11s 50mm all around and wished they got chrome instead, send me a PM. Yes I'm an idiot. I changed my mind after already ordering and its too late.

I talked to them this morning, the are already buried in the truck and I can't change them. The good news is that if you can sell them, I can order you another set at the GP price (they had a slight price increase after this started, but it will be the same or very close). So, you might try to sell them off and I can re-order you another set in black.

Also, the black wheels will be arriving on Tuesday (they are ahead of schedule) since Monday is a holiday. So, they will go out about the middle of next week.

Yeah I think this is what I will do. I don't think I'll have a hard time getting most of my money back for a brand new set, and I don't have a certain date I need them by. I could probably sell them by twos to people on LS1tech. I do appreciate your help though making the call.

Wow...I guess I need to pick some tires out soon. Trying to decide between Kumho MXs and Falken 615s for getting to events and back-up tires (in case a race tire cords or it rains) for autox/track use.

Okay Okay.

I got a big surprise when I opened up the wheels. They all look round, and I ordered the square ones.

Just kidding.

However, either by mistake or pleasant surprise, they included a full set of chrome lug nuts with one locking nut for each wheel, plus a chrome valve stem for each wheel. Must be 40-50 bucks worth of extras, which I cant actually use for the race car. (I do have other cars they will look nice on).

Im thinking this may have been a mistake, so if they want them back, they need to send me a shipping account number.

Thanks

bock

Probably not a mistake. OE wheels usually packages lug nuts and valve stems with all their wheels. Glad to hear you got yours. I already have my tires here and waiting. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Same deal here-street and backup use. I went with MX's because I know the camber I have for race tires will kill street tires so I went with the cheaper option. FWIW I've been under the impression from some that the 615's might get better wet traction, although they start out shallower 8/32 vs the MX's at 10/32 IIRC.

But wait, there's more!!!!

........ Now what would you pay????
(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif)

Besides, if you got the square ones, you'd only be able to buy tires at Pep Boys. They seem to have the market cornered on square tires......

All eight wheels arrived today (Louisville, KY). (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) A little heavy as expected, but the finish quality is really nice (hey I'm using one set for the street).

Sweet. I have to give the guys credit for hammering out all of that shipping in a day. I guess they talk to about a billion people each day and some of them will be serious, some won't. Once they figured out that I was truly serious, they were great to work with.

Hi guys. It’s been a while.

Would someone who got painted wheels weigh them and post results.
I am mainly interested in the 17” x 9.5”.
I see the weight of the chromed version.

Thanks,
Bob

My 17x11 painted rims were 27.5~27.75 also on a medical balance beam scale, about the same as reported above for chrome (but not on the same scale).

Welcome back Bob. It's been a long time sir.

If you would want a set, I can still get them at a discount for you. They did have a slight price increase and it may change slightly, but it should be close. If you're interested, let me know and I'll check.
