I'm selling a set of 4 old-style 5 spoke CCW 3-piece 16x10s now without tires.

The wheels are ugly, but in a purposeful, built-for-racing kind of way that I like, and they have some nicks and scrapes [and gouges and tool marks from installing/removing stiff race tires].

Now only $300 + shipping for rims only, no tires. Price slashed

sold

I'm selling a set of 4 old-style 5 spoke CCW 3-piece 16x10s with 265/45-16 V710s. The Hoosier 275/45-16 is also a good match for this rim.

The tires have been used for most of two seasons, but I've missed a lot of events and frequently codrove another car. Most of the sites I run at are also easy on tires. They are certainly past their prime, but there's a lot of tread left and they still get sticky.

The wheels are ugly, but in a purposeful, built-for-racing kind of way that I like, and they have some nicks and scrapes.

This would make a good setup for making the jump to race tires for local autocross, an Evolution school, or HPDE.

$600 + shipping

I'm out of hosting space at the moment, but I can email pictures.

Pictures, rim weight and offset to doughphillips@cs.com please.

Sunday's event was on very grippy asphalt that is weathered but sees very little traffic and isn't worn smooth. I won by over a second on a short course. I hadn't looked closely at the tires for several weeks, but I'm now revising my description from "lots of tread left" to "still some usable" tread left. See pcis for details.

I didn't have a good scale when the rims were bare. I measured 43 3/8 lbs on a medical scale with the current tires prior to the last event.

The rims have integral 1/4" spacers bolted to the back of the hubs with two flat head (ie tapered seat) bolts threaded into blind holes in the hubs. They came that way when I got them, and that's the only way I've ever tried to use or fit them. The net offset with spacer is about 42mm. No body, spindle, or bumpstop modifications were necessary. I had already beat my rear inner fenders for 275/40-17 on SS rims, so I don't know if that would have been needed with these rims.

Doug, my internet connection gets pretty flaky after dawn. I probably won't be able to get pictures through until tonight or early tomorrow morning. I'll give it a shot now, but if you don't here from me until later, I didn't forget ....

I've seen the wheels personally-even ran them on my car one day. They are as described and would make a nice set of race wheels.

Thanks, Rob.

I forgot to mention that I flipped the tires this spring, and rotate them for every event. All four tires look pretty much the same, so I only took details shots of the tread and shoulders of one representative tire.

My internet connection is barely usable for text at the moment. If the connection isn't better this evening, I know of a local bar with a patio and a wireless hotspot (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's hard to say with the wheels spinning. They MIGHT be the same .... I have the pics saved in my outgoing email on the server, so i can think I can readily forward them now if you want to send me an address.

The backspace with the integral spacer is 7 1/8".

Post 9 above has links to the full size pics. I can email them to you also if you send me your address.

I've always run the wheels with the integral spacers, but I just [test-fitted] one without the spacer on the front and it fits over my stock 2001 Z28 brakes.

They will not fit over the C5 brake template.

The ones we have are more 'star' like. The spokes are a lot thinner, at least while looking it straight on the side. The spokes may be a little thicker, though, at about 9/16-3/4".

I'm between Lexington and Versailles. Shipping would be around $46 to a residence in downtown Nashville, or it will be in the ballpark of 200 miles one way (through Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, and Bardstown to Versailles).

I'll call you Friday. Who should I ask for?
