I have a brand new in the package CASPER LT1 Hotwire kit for 93-97 LTx cars. This item was purchased new and never used, still in the original plastic. I will be selling the item for $65, plus shipping. PM me for ship details...
The Casper Hotwire kit will now be sold for $60 + $8 shipping to anywhere in the CONUS (continental united states). Grand total of $68 for a brand NEW KIT (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I will take the 3% hit on paypal as an added bonus to the buyer. Paypal requested: (IMG:http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y194/96SilverRam/Fuelpumpkit1.jpg) (IMG:http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y194/96SilverRam/Fuelpumpkit2.jpg) This post has been edited by 96Silverram: Oct 16 2008, 10:05 PM |

Excuse my ignorance, but what does do exactly? Upgrades the wiring size for power to the fuel pump. There is a known weakness in the wiring harness to the fuel pump on our cars which sometimes causes low voltage to the pump. I have never had any problems with this, however apparently it is common enough that they have created a plug and play harness replacement kit for it. Casper direct price is $72.95 on this kit. BTW, Caspers is a good place to find those unusual harnesses and plugs for our cars. I have purchased a couple of Opti pig tails (long strange plug that goes into the opti unit) from them. Most of the aftermarket sellers of this buy their stock from Caspers. bock |

Hmm...interesting. So if I"m running an aftermarket pump like the Walpro 255, and using it as a dedicated race car, this might be something I should be looking into.
Being stuck in 3rd gen/carb land means I have alot to learn about the 4th gens, and the FI stuff. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif) |

Usually this gain is from the fact that the pump wants to operate at the higher voltage, it is more effecient in that range, producing a few extra HP/TQ ( as a side benefit ). There are some valid reason for running a kit like this on any LT1 car. The only reason I'm not using this setup, I just received my dual in-tank setup from Lonnie's Performance and it comes with the HOTWIRE kit as part of the package. Thanks for your interest, Michael |

It should help the pump live longer by reducing the voltage drop to it and heat buildup. But other than that, yes, there can be a bit of a HP boost, even to stock cars. |

Agree with what your saying and that is probably the best reason to do this upgrade on a street car (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Thanks for the bump. |
