It any of those concepts take at least 500 lbs out of the car, then I am interested.

Eric
Still bummed by the almost 4000 lb curb weight.

Previous to viewing that picture I have enjoyed bashing the car. You could say that I've been on the haters bandwagon, mainly because of weight, cost, and the delay in bringing the car to market. Now that I've seen that, I'm not sure what to think. Can I get mine with no center console, rubber floor mats, and radio delete?

Please, no jumping off the haters bandwagon.

I really hope this car is an epic failure.

The interior looks much better than the concept, not sure exactly what the differences are but I don't hate it as much. The body lines also look sweet... but 4,000 lbs!!!

The track version with an LS7 would put the 3900 pounds to motion. The looks are killer but I still think a used 2006 Zo6 at 3180 pounds for $40k (estimated late 2009 price) would put it to shame. It's amazing what ground affects and spoilers can do!

Love the blue car pictured in the post, that's one of the best looking 4k lbs beasts I've ever seen.

The Nascar version of this car is hideous and is deeply disturbing. I can't think of a single car that could actually pull off any amount of orange in the interior. Orange interior should be left for the custom car stereo shops to install in cars that receive stereos that cost more than the car (but maybe not as much as the spinners they're rolling on).

I don't know the details behind this thing but if they produce it, it will single handedly grenade whatever rebuilding of the Camaro brand that Chevy has been able to accomplish by taking a few years off from building Camaro. Resale value will be horrible and will quickly scare away any normal types of people who would otherwise buy this car...... then they end up rolling on 22's (or whatever they are these days) in the hands of ricers or those who choose to wear excessive gold chains, wife beaters and bandanas......... da*n it! the Camaro image curse/cycle continues.........

CF hood, trunk lid, doors and fenders. I'm guessing that helped save a decent amount of weight. Now if you could only buy a street legal version from GM (can we say 1LE...)

Heh, yeah, all the way down to 3850#. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

They must be using lead balloons for the airbags. Kinda makes my '95 Impala SS seem light. Jeez.

That is one pretty machine

Yes, I'd rather buy the Z06 - same engine and nearly 1000lbs less weight to toss around.

What do you think the probability would be that GM would put the LS7 dry sump in a Z28 version of the car? They have a real history of upgrading the horsepower in the second year of a performance car's production (GTO, 94 Camaro, and G8 w/manual). I would think the current market trends along with CAFE would pretty much end their performance initiatives after 2010. I could see buying one to seat 4 verses going with the ZO6 but who knows what's to come with this crazy economy.

The real question is whether or not GM will survive to see the second year of Camaro production. Ford is not doing much better.
