Greetings, Charlie here from Brandon, FL
I am the orig owner of a 93 Z28 1LE, one of 19 prod for that yr. I waited 9 weeks for it to be built and delivered to a local Dealer after signing the paperwork and paying the full amount up front.
In the beginning it was primary transportation. About 10 yrs ago it was transformed into a weekend warrior with a writeup in GMHTP mag.
It's now being returned to stock, or close to with a fresh build and all stock parts were cherished and saved.
I was a member on the old 1LE.Org website and the car is/was registered with Oaklahoma Outlaw racing as the quickest and fastest N/A car within it's class.
The car came with a close ratio M29 6 spd that has won many races for me. It runs 12's and gives me 26 mpg hwy still.
A discription of current upgrades can be found here: http://www.scfba.info/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=153&t=3291

best DR time 1/4 mi 12.30@112, 1/8 mi 7.93@93

I also own a 93 - but not a 1LE. I do have the M29 transmission though. If memory serves me right, the gears internally were heat treated for strength on these.

Would you know if all 93's came with a 21" rear sway bar?

I've been real happy with mine as well. Sorry to hear to have to let her go!

I have not heard that about the gears but I know mine has been great. The M29 makes the car. The 21mm rear sway bar was 1LE specific. 19mm I believe on the standard Z28

Hey Charlie, I think I met you when I tagged along with Robert to a couple of your car outings? Sorry to hear you can't keep the Z (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Are you going to Robert's anniversary gathering next weekend?

Hey Jim, Yes, it was good seeing you again at Robert's shop.

The car was sold to a fellow in Wisconson. 2 Days after he got it the car caught fire and was completely destroyed. I have no info how or why but the guy wasn't hurt.

Oh man, that sux! All things happen for a reason, though, I guess. I had a friend who had a Porsche that he just loved. He got married, and you know that path. Anyway, he traded the car in for something with more room. Well, the _night_ after he turned it in, the car caught fire and burned to the ground in the dealer's lot. They traced the source to a short in the electrical system. He said that if he still owned the car, it would have probably burned his house down, since it sat in the attached garage at night.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I know you don't own the car any more, but I'm sure there is still some emotional attachment, given your history with the car.
