What are you guys using? I overheard a guy at the track talking about RV/motorhome hose. Any details on this?

What are you using and where to get it?

Not sure where you live, but locally we have a hydraulic hose supplier called Stuart Hose.

They have a great supply and selection of air duct and ventilation hose at about 1/2 the cost.

I've been to Mitch's place...if it's local to Mitch...you'll never find it (and it's sure not local to anywhere else...lol). (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Most of the race suppliers (OG racing, Hoerr products, etc) sell two levels of brake ducting (the temp ratings are different as are the prices). That's the most plentiful/best stuff to use (wherever you source it).

ouch!

OK "local" in Texas is a 50 mile radius. "Local" in Ohio is 50 feet. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

3" AL dryer vent. $7/side at Home Depot and you never have to wait for it to arrive. Makes it through a season if you don't crush the crap out of it.

What hoer and others sell is aircraft grade SCAT tubing, no reason the slightly cheaper CAT tubing would work as well with its 350 degree rating instead of 550. SCEET/CEET tubing is double walled and smoother , but needs a greater bend radius.

I used HD roof vent material in the lower turn signal to funnel the air to the alum vent hose (also HD) cheap and easy to get. then I connected the alum hose to a 3" alum pipe bolted to the inner fender. I then ran good duct from Day motorsports to the wheel. I had to extend my wheel stops to keep my tires off the ducting (tore off the passenger side right away), this reduced the turn radius a little but does not affect racing, just in the pits. By using the short expensive hose one section will last a long time. I also made alunimum "shields" for the top nuts of my lower control arms so the hose will glide over those when turning, going up and down.
