For those of you with aftermarket seats and kept the stock seatbelt for street driving, what have you done to keep the seatbelt at a good level. The stock seats have that clip near the top of the seat the holds the belt down.

I could always put that on the new seat, I was wondering if it is load bearing in a crash (ie I would have to screw it in, or if I could just attach it to the seat in another method so I wouldn't have to screw through the new fabric.

Thanks!

I ran a velcro strap through the shoulder harness hole, around the outside of the seat to hold the factory belt in place.

I bought a piece of 3/8" aluminum rod from Home Depot and used the stock guide as a pattern to fab up a nice looking guide for the stock belt.

I attached it with 2 scews and have had no problems.

I just fished the belt through the loop provided for the shoulder harness to go through.

Same here. Unbolted the lower attachment and routed it through the hole in the new seat.

I tried that but it rubbed my neck. It was rather irritating, but I didn't like the seats I bought either and they were quickly removed from the car.

I just deal with it for the little street driving I do. Attaching a bracket should be easy though.

So simple...... I don't think I would have ever thought to try that. Thanks.

Well, the harness whole in the seat put the belt across my neck funny. I tried using velcro straps through the harness whole, through the factory guide to hold it to the seat, but that was too low. What I ended up doing it making a 'bracket' out of flat aluminum. I trilled 2 holes in it, and bolted the factory guide to it. I then lined the back of the bracket with the hook part of velcro (turns out velcro sticks very well to a corbeau fabric seat. I used 2 velcro straps through the harness hole and around the bottom of the 'bracket' just to make sure it stays put.

Off topic, but how fo you guys like your seats, and which ones did you go with? I've been looking at different seats for awhile, but am worried that they wont fit correctly.

I want to maintain the stock adjustability, including power because it's daily drivin.

I went with the Corbeau Legacy, and so far love it (just put it in last night, but am happy so far). It is going to take me a little while to get used to the change in posture, as my upper body sits a little closer to the wheel, while my legs can still be extended. Its a better position for me, which I wan't able to acheive with the factory seat.

I think you might have a hard time finding a good race style seat with power. You might want to look at local shops to see if any will bolster your stock seat for you.
