I have hooker headers, 3" Y-Pipe, to 3" Flowmaster. I also have a 3" cut-out on there. Everything was jet-hot coated.
I plan to do side exit in the future, some setup using likely Dr. Gas boom tubes, and exiting thru custom side skirts that I'm slowly working on (along with new front GFX's with integrated splitter). Looking at clearance under there, I'm likely going to have to go with oval tubing, and some sort of oval low clearnace muffler (something like. http://www.drgas.com/item.asp?id=381). What are the plans for you car? Depending on your clearance needs, and exaust size needs, it may be pretty easy to exit the sides, it may not. |

Hooker shorty headers with the AIR tubes removed, 3" Y pipe, 3" high flow cat, 3" Hooker Super Comp cat-back.
There is currently a cut-out following the cat, but that's going to be removed (I've opened it twice in two years and it drags in the driveway). The only plans are for an O2 bung in the Y pipe for a wide band O2 sensor for tuning purposes and new more subtle exhaust tips. |

Here is an old pic of where the cut-out is located.
(IMG:http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/2/web/314000-314999/314283_41_full.jpg) Since that pic, I had an o2 bung welded in, and then coated. I also have an electric cut-out. |

Most of the help I need is in the money department. I plan on doing them out of CF, so I need to make molds, get all the materials etc. I'm right now in the planning/design stages, and of course saving up.
The problem is, I can't leave one project well enough alone, to get anything done. I'm building up a new motor, and trying to do body stuff all at the same time, couple that with the never ending process of sorting out the suspension....and you get the idea. |

SLP 1-5/8" shorty headers, custom y-pipe to clear the subframe connectors I had on my previous car, Catco high flow cat, Walker cat back, with a Dynomax race magnum welded muffler. It's fairly tame at idle, but gets your attention while on the throttle some.

Coated Hooker Shorties, custom y-pipe going to be installed sometime soon.
right now it's stock manifolds with a 2.75 I-pipe and a Flowmaster muffler. I am going to change the tips and probably the muffler in the near future, (IMG:http://www.transamws6.com/pics/formula/body15.jpg) here is vid so you can hear the exhaust Auto-X |

On the third gen CMC car I have an SLP Y pipe with an Alan Blaine fabbed 3" pipe going to a Dynomax muffler. Muffler is located under the rear right passenger seat area. It is LOUD for a 305!

Hooker Super Comp Headers -->
2.5" y-pipe --> 3" collector --> 12" long Dynomax bullet glasspack --> small turndown just behind the passenger seat a very minimal ESP exhaust and nobody says a word about the exhaust volume of my car (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) |

I have unknown brand shorties that go to a 3" pipe that runs under the oil pan and exits out the passenger's side, going into a 90 degree bend to a 3" bullet-type muflfer. The muffler used to be under the car until I installed the SFCs. Now, I have a side-pipe. :-)
I have thought about something more like old-school Vette side-pipes, but I _know_ Todd Ferris would have a cow. :-) A much more expensive method would be to use some of the oval pipe and put it under the car. The car isn't too loud right now, even with a gutted muffler, but then again, it is not being pushed down the road by much of an engine. |

Unknown Shorties, handmade 3" mandrel bent T303 y-pipe, stainless Dynomax where the cat was, handmade 3" Mandrel Bent T303 over the axle and split to plain dual exits.
Thinking of swapping the muffler for a bullet style, I think the length of pipe after the muffler will get rid of a lot of the rasp. |

Coated stainless SLP 1 3/4" primary shorties with mandrel bent, stainless y-pipe into stainless 3" SLP 2OTL catback with no cat.
A nice rumble at idle and beautiful at WOT. I stole it for $450 used and complete. Only downside is everything is stainless so it's pretty heavy. It'll outlast the car though. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
