QUOTE (KeithO @ Apr 5 2004, 02:28 PM)
Other than the marks on my rear bumper and the fact that the car snapped so quickly the opposite direction that I was steering, I don't know what really happened and I am too new to be making any accusations. I don;t want to be controversial, I want to have fun and to know if I made a mistake or not. That's all. I was going into a right-hander and the car snapped very quickly to the left. I was in tight traffic. Hitting the wall with the right-front in a right hand turn takes some serious intervention from Sir Isaac Newton, but not impossible.

I am waiting for the full screen video. It is possible that I made a mistake, though I have never, never spun a car in an autocross (well over 500 runs in 3 years) nor on the track (over 40 hours on 6 tracks)... Ever.

I need to learn something from this, even if it's watch out for so-and-so...

I would like to "set the record straight" on this post.

I got my Mid Ohio video. I am 75% sure that I know what happened. When I went into the right hander, the rear broke a little loose. I counter-steered just as I transitioned from tarmac to concrete, the increased grip snapped the car to the left and off I went. It also appears that I might have gotten tagged AFTER the car started snapping to the left, not before. Therefore, it was my mistake. At least I think I know what happened now. ...and I learned something.
