I know it looks badass.

If you do a search you will find some more pictures on here a year or so ago. There are pics of a yellow one as well.

I couldn't find anyhting but some common looking camaros from sweden. if you could find the pic I'd be grateful

From the website it shows it was entered by 'AC Automotive' and it was driven by Andrew Chester and Richard Wood and it gridded 24th and was credited with an 18th place finish and a 'did not finish' with 28 laps completed. Strange.

The photographer has an email listed 'jeremy.jackson@btinternet.com' and maybe he knows more?

Interesting car for sure. Looks like a derhaag front body clip w/modified hood. Centerlock wheels, lots of cage...damn interesting.

The guy who USED to make those cars/body kits was from Sweden. Joran Persaaker I believe. He has a speed shop and website last time I checked. He sent an email to me last year when all the people on here were going nuts over those cars.....he offered to send some of the kits over here for a price.....

I don't remember those links and that much info and pictures last year. A lot of guys are running what looks like a common front splitter. I'd be real curious to find out more about that. It's not as wild as the one in the picture in the first post.

I think it would be really cool if we could get some of those guys on this board (there's enough of them). I'm sure they could learn a few things from us, and we could learn a few things from them. A field trip would be nice too!

Front breather, Porsche 911 wheels?:

there was a quick post on LS1 tech about those cars, as well as on here and CZ28. Several e-mails switched back and forth, there were language barrier issues and in the end nothing really happened, the cars were wild and very interesting, but it seemed that nothing could be done to get the body pieces to this side of the pond. The various camaro GFX that came from Japan took several years to make their way over here.

I sent mail, email and tried calling , nothing.

Good News, I called AC Automotive, they are based out of London. he said all the parts were made in house and that "Steel is a Dirty word" so apparently everything is Fiberglass. They still have the molds, he is getting me a price on monday.plus he said the car weighs about 1000 kilos.

edit:2200lbs.

I plan on buying the front and rear fenders and Putting them on my T/A/ Somehow.

Don't forget to update us on the cost, details, etc......Joran Persaaker was the one building the body kits for the "Camaro Cup" cars if I remember right.....the bodies were MUCH less aggressive, but still a nice kit for our cars.....

Ask about GP's and shipping too!

One of those front fascia pieces would be really nice to have. I'd like to know if they mount directly to bumper cover or if they require some sort of bumper cover massaging to attach them. Although I'd buy one either way if the price is somewhat reasonable. Which brings us to, of course, cost and cost for shipping.

Also, are the pieces unique to the LT1 and LS1, or do they fit both. I think the bottom of both bumper covers are the same, but I'm not sure.

That front piece with a nice splitter attached would be SWEET!

The black "radical" car looks like you will need the ENTIRE front section (nose, fenders, hood) and A TON of fabrication......I doubt very much it is ANYWHERE near a bolt on effort.

I think, again from memory, even the less radical Camaro Cup cars would require all three peices together to work.....they look like they might just bolt on though....dunno.....

Still interested in price either way.

The camaro cup cars can get away with just a nose section. But its a one piece nose ie: the entire thing. So it would require a BIG box to get it over here. And the more "radical" cars is a complete package to get it to work right.
JKnight
Thanks. I hadn't seen that pic in my searching. But that might work quite nicely with the current setup....

Hmmmm....interesting....THAT looks like it would work for me.....I would have to detach the front each time to put it in the trailer, but from the looks of that pic....they do too...

However, I see no evidence of how they mount the nose on the front.....don't see nose to fender bolt holes or dZus fasteners.....don't see ANY fasteners on the front at all......hmmmmmmmm dry.gif

That sort of looks like a latch below the E in EBC. Perhaps this bumper cover hasn't been fitted with the accompanying accoutrement. And perhaps it has metal arms that go into the frame rails or some similar such thing.

If I could have acquired that splitter/airdam, then I wouldn't have had mine custom built.

I'd still be interested in what $$ they wanted for the LS1 nose/airdam/splitter setup.

Bummer, we are allways left out of the good body parts! But we do look better than camaro's nutkick.gif

I'm halfway thinking of just making mine a Trans-Maro. Wonder how much would be involved in swapping in a Camaro bumper, hood and front fenders. . . Sure are a lot more pieces out there for them. In fact, a local circle track shop has urethane LT1 front pieces that have a small splitter molded in.

Any updates on prices yet?

For giggles I hopped on to the camarocup forums. Not much activity, but a few neat posts. Some pictures. Looks like they definitely autocross there and have no problems partying beerchug.gif

no updates yet. he did say however the hood would be pretty expensive. I should get prices soon. I'll let you guys know as soon as I do.

Hi Chad

The body on the camaro was a one off and is hand made. To make front and rear wings the cost is £450.00 per wing
plus packing and shipping.

Regards
Andy

Hello my name is Chad and I was curious of the prices for a set of front and rear Camaro Fenders just like the ones on the Camaro you raced At Donington.
00 Trans Ram
FYI - that's about $821, not including the hundreds it would take to ship it across the big pond.
rmackintosh
What does he mean by front and rear "wings"???? The rear wing on many of those car I assume most of us would not want. By "front wing" does he mean the ENTIRE nose peice?? And if so, to the stock fenders and hood work with it?

Wait a minute.....Donnington....are you conversing with the maker of the BIG BLACK MONSTER car? Or with a Camaro Cup driver/fabricator?

Like Randy and most of us on here, I think, I was interested in the front splitter/bumper/whatever on the Camaro Cup cars.

Oh....OK....my bad...while I LOVE that car.....I am not interested in POURING money into the fab cost to make that car....for MUCH less, I could buy a premade faster car.....

FYI...the body kit on that car is ONLY the beginning......you will have to do major fab work to get it on....and look at those fenders....you will need to do MAJOR suspension work/rebuild to fill out the wheel wells....that is a FULL ON race car....not much production based IMHO....too much work/money for me...

"Wing" is the term them crazy Brits use for the parts that we call fenders. cool.gif

There's actually someone on LS1Tech thats planning on trying to replicate this car. I'd be interested in seeing how that goes.
