Do stores like AutoZone, NAPA or O'Rielys take used fluids? I need to dispose of some antifreeze, oil, and trans fluid.

In the Houston area, most of the oil change places will take the antifreeze. Last time I was there to leave antifreeze, though, they asked me if it was the green stuff or the orange stuff. Seems they had a problem with the orance stuff. Luckily, all I had was the green.
The same places, as well as the parts stores take oil, trans fluid and gear oil. Some may require you to 'register' with them, but should take it for free. That is the case in Texas. Unfortunately, they only take it in quantities of 5 gallons, or less. That can sometimes be an issue for me. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) |
