I have a middle-aged neighbor I don't know very well who recently purchased a 1989 IROC-Z from one of his friends. He says it has a LT1 350 solid roller, and originally said it weighed 800lbs less than my 1998 model. He advised he has a hard time keeping it straight, and it only spins the tires in any gear. It appears to have a full factory interior but I didn't look under the hood. It does sound healthy when he rev's the motor though. When I told him there's no way the car came from the factory at 2600lbs, he ammended his claim that it's still 500lbs lighter because they weigh 28-2900lbs stock.

It also has Eagle GTII tires. My research indicates that the factory curb weight would be 3100lbs, but I don't know if other options would have altered that figure much less the LT1 motor which is installed. Assuming it's fairly stock except for the LT1 motor, what weight range do you think the car would be in?

1988 Iroc-Z Camaro (Orginally a 350TPI/700R4)

LS1 Swap with T-56 Trans
Aluminum DS
Stock Aussie 9bolt/brakes
1/3 tank of gas

Car weight was 3182 without me in it, damn thats light !!!

Mine weighs 3280 with a glass hood, lightweight battery, 315s and heavy 18 x 10.5" rims, no AC, no smog pump, no cruise control, no spare tire, and at the time I had most of the rear interior plastic out too. That's with a TPI motor and T5.

An LT1 & T56 would be heavier.
