Well now I feel stupid... I didn't realize the Camaro's were that different there. The firebirds have a 6lb slab that bolts to the top of the radiator support to hold up the top of the bumper. Thought you had a little more removed there, but I guess its just the plastic panel and the hood latch?
Anything hanging out in front of the front axle centerline, especially over two feet out is getting priority for weight savings, one of the reasons this build is taking forever. The 20lbs or so saved with a different crash bar should take ~27lbs off the front wheels. What I have visions of won't hold up well in a wreck but I'm not concerned since the car rarely gets driven on the street besides to autocrosses. I don't feel quite so bad not making it Tulsa now. Although it's shame, probably won't have power tour come this close in a while (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Regardless, that's enough off topic, back to car porn (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/drink.gif) This post has been edited by roostmeyer: Jul 20 2012, 01:34 AM |
