Not for much longer.

GM High-Tech Performance is dead, or will be after the Aug issue.

I used to subscribe to the print version, but dropped that a few years ago. I would pick up one off the news stand when I saw something I liked, but last year I re-uped for the digital version.

I liked that they covered cars without carbs and didn't just focus on strait line cars, but there articles were always thin, just covering the surface and missing a lot of the cool details. The also spent so much focus on the pretty cars and not covering much in the cool and fast cars that didn't have flawless paint. There are a load of subject I wish they had covered, but that would have required deep articles on things like how they actually tuned the ecu for the latest engine they built for a project car.

Another member of the print media falls. They weren't the first and I'm sure they won't be the last.

It is sad to see it go, however this forum and other online venues have become a great medium for the exchange of information similar to what you would find in the magazines. That's the same reason why I don't own a Haynes manual for my car -- there's plenty of good information in there, however most of it can also be found online with color pictures and helpful tips from others that have done the work.

As a guy that's always loved cars, however had zero knowledge as to how to actually work on them it sure is nice having such a knowledgeable and friendly group of folks to lean on for advice.
