I couldn't see very well, but it struck me as odd that they'd imply it.
And, I can't say much, I was 3/4 of the way through my first run in Memphis when I realized the funny banging noise I heard was my helmet rolling around in the back seat, slamming into the side panels. Somehow, I forgot to put it on and the starter waved me off without noticing either. I guess Brian Burdette was working the course and radioed in and said "Uh, guys, don't we need helmets for this event?" As I pulled into the staging area, my cell phone rang, it was my co driver who was working the course. I simply answered "Yea, I'm putting it on". Maybe that's why it struck a cord with me.....
