The body shop simply peeled the inspection sticker off the old one and affixed it to the new window. _One_ of the edges was curled a bit. I took the truck to visit a friend. Passed a JV cop going the other way. He practically spun the car around in the street (Jersey Drive). I was getting out of the truck, when he came sliding into my friend's driveway with the lights flashing. You'd have thought I was deliveing a ton of coke to my friend. He got out and asked if I knew why he was there. Of course, I didn't, and said so. He told me the inspection sticker had been altered. I looked at it, noted the curled _corner_, and mentioned that my Dad had recently had the truck repaired and the windshield replaced. He told me the truck needs to get a new inspection, that that sticker is now illegal. Luckily, he didn't peel that one off, but we got the truck inspected again. Amazing, but true. Gene Beaird |
