World Challenge - CTS-V - F-Body Road Racing and Autocross Forums

The discussion that of this season WC events especially the CTS-v team has intrigued me. I read where they used a C5R block but ran it at stock displacement. I did not think that was really all that fair. Oh well I guess.

I also read they were able to move the engine rearward to even the weight bias. I could not find something to confirm that bit.

Grand Touring (GT): Includes a variety of production displacements with no maximum. Forced induction is permitted and is used to equalize individual models. Sedans, coupes, convertibles and two-seat models are permitted. The cars can be rear-wheel, or all-wheel drive. Class horsepower range is 425-550 bhp.

"As to the seemingly extreme body modifications Coalwell said, "the only unfortunate thing is that the CTS-V has such a high stock ride height and the "flat-sided" body, the race body looks quite a bit different from stock because when they lowered the car the 5" to get down to the permitted 3" minimum ride height they had to move the wheel arch up the side of the fenders and trim the bottom of the bodywork so that it did not drag on the ground."

Steve Assuming that "body in white" set of dimentions very closely resemble the stock chassis, I agree. Small changes always have to be made, but we are beyond that in the Caddies case (in my opinion). I like (sorta) the race car, I think the street car is quite ugly.
