Where did he get the wheels painted? They are looking good. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Good and dusty.
Clever sign for the back drop. |

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) My garage floor has some nice hues going. Yup. Ohio has the worlds smallest ailens..... I think I have a close up at home. I'm a master with a spray can. They actually look quite good. And, with the growing layer of dust from the HP+ pads, nobody can tell any longer if they didn't (that's why I made them that color). I have "wash 'n wear wheels". |

Brake cleaner puts Roundup to shame. There's none of that silly "wilts in a few hours, dies within weeks nonsense". With a good dose of brake cleaner, weeds wilt within minutes and are dead soon after.
Sure, it's probably carcinogenic, it's expensive, and the weeds (or grass) do grow back, but .... |

And, it kills bees. I was unloading my old 3/4 ton truck one day and suddenly had a swarm of bees around me. Seems the nest was under the inside bedrail. Being out of wasp spray, I dispatched a friend to the garage for a few cans of brake clean. We stuck in the red nozzles and "went for it". We were shooting them out of the sky (great fun) until I saw him (in slow motion) swing the can around after a bee that was headed towards my face. Yup, full dose of brake clean right in the right eye. That hurts. That hurts bad...... But, it kills bees dead. (just not the best eye flush) |

When I first met hubby he was working at a GM dealer. He taught me Brake cleaner works really good on those black widows under the hood of customer cars! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I only need to paint my rear rims on the z06... the brake pads do a good enough job on the fronts, I just need the rears to match lol

QUOTE That's why I painted them "brake dust color" (I don't know why they don't just name it that). And that's exactly why I want to do the same. Getting tired of having to religiously clean my wheels every weekend, and still have visible brake dust on them two days later. I haven't cleaned my wheels in a whopping three weeks now, and the fronts in particular are pretty much the color you painted yours, with the inner portion just being a slightly lighter shade. I'll probably lay some newspaper down when I paint mine though, if only because I don't have a lawn that will grow back, but just a paved driveway that hopefully will never do any sort of growing. |
